Description

The Taylor’s & Company 1866 is a faithful lever-action reproduction of the iconic Winchester “Yellow Boy” rifle, chambered in 45 Colt (Long Colt) and purpose-built for cowboy-action shooting and Old West reenactment. This brand-new, Uberti-manufactured example earns its famous “Yellow Boy” nickname from the distinctive brass receiver, with the period-correct package rounded out by a brass forend cap and brass buttplate paired with blued steel furniture and a walnut fixed stock.

This full-size rifle is built around a 20″ octagonal barrel with a classic 1:16″ RH twist, feeding rounds through an under-barrel tubular magazine for a total capacity of 10+1 rounds. Dovetail blade front and dovetail buckhorn rear iron sights are fitted for traditional open-sight shooting, and the dovetail cuts also accept easy sight upgrades or replacements.

Tipping the scales at 7.90 lbs with an overall length of 38.87″, the 1866 is a substantial, well-balanced rifle sized for right-hand shooters.
